Hand Challenge at Chocolate Baroque

Hello everyone,   I hope you are doing well.

While the Design Team at Chocolate Baroque were working with the Indian Design Stamps, DT Member Miranda came up with a most gorgeous design using the stamps as Henna on a hand.   You can see it at this Blog Post here.

We were all inspired by the use of a hand in her art and Glenda, the owner of Chocolate Baroque asked if the DT would like to participate in a "Hand Challenge" - time permitting.  We set a date for the 'reveal' and three of us chose to create something in our Art Journals.

Here is my Art Journal spread where I traced my own hands (not very well).   My thinking for the page is that I use my hands (also my head & heart) for Art.

I used Dylusions inks, various stencils and molding cream for the background.  I stamped the words from Artistic Affirmations & the Harlequin design from the Clear Set - Decorative Edges.   I doodled on the finger nails and highlighted the words with a white Gelly Roll pen.

The Forum (Ning Network) over at Chocolate Baroque now has a 'Hand Challenge'.   You just need to be a member & there is no deadline if you would like to join in the fun.   The discussion is called "Hand Challenge" in the Forum on the home page.

Thanks for stopping by and have a creative day!
Shirley

Stunning pages Shirley, and such bright beautiful colours as well. I love the words you've used as well, especially the ones "creativity takes courage". I also like the paste that you've used to make the leaves.

It is the outlines of your dear hands which make these pages delightful and precious. LOVE the little flowers on your finger nails, and the pretty colors and images, too. I especially like the sentiment about courage... it doesn't sound like it would take courage, but it most certainly does! Thanks for sharing from your art journal again! love, de

Hey Shirley, Gorgeous colors and I like your meaning behind the hands - using your hands, head and heart for art. Well put :)

A BIG WOW! This is fantastic. On my recent stamp store visit, the owner demonstrated these sprays...I have some, don't really know how to use them - with stencils & such. You've done a marvelous job with the colors, loved the different elements you used on your pages. Such artistry. I always love coming to visit to see what unusual creations you have that day. This one is amazing. TFS

Love the effect of the painted nails plus the way all the colours work against the black & white detailing. I particularly like the way you have alternated your various motifs - the tow leaf branches top right & bottom left, the right hand bottom right with the left top left & how your two hands frame the two pages adding weight to the whole idea of creating with your hands.
