I have a card today featuring stamps by Designs by Ryn, including her new Compound Leaf that has a wonderful textured pattern. This makes me think of summer... it's not here..... it's been colder than normal..........brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
Design by Ryn stamps: Compound Leaf, Leafy Branch (at the top) and the beautiful Dragonfly Faerie.
"Life is Beautiful" is from the 2012 Art Specially Show in the Netherlands.
The background was created with Squeezed Lemonade, Peacock Feathers & Mowed Lawn Distress Inks using the Acrylic Block technique. I stamped the Compound Leaf with Caribbean Sea Kaleidacolour Ink (using the darker colours on the pad). I stamped Leafy Branch & the sentiment with Cottage Ivy Memento Ink.
I stamped Dragonfly Faerie on separate cardstock with black, coloured with Prisma Pencils, cut her out, added glitter to her wings and attached. I added highlighting with a white Gelly Roll pen.

Wow this is another stunner Shirley, I love the colours you've used. But most of all the amazing detail you've picked out on the wings, in matching colours. I love the new stamps too. They're on my wish list at the moment, but I did get to see and play with them at Eileens workshop.

Each card you make is exquisite, Shirley, and I do like how you take the time to describe your process. The very names of the colours you use make me want to go and buy them, just for the names. I love all the leaves and your very cleverly cut-out and painted fairy.

Hey Shirley, this is one of my faves from the last while. Just love how you combined Compound Leaf and Leafy Branch. The difference in size creates the feeling of depth and makes Dragonfly Faerie feel small. Great job with her wings especially. They look magical with the sparkles. Thank you so much :)

Wonderful background for your beautiful fairy. Your pencil coloring is so smooth! Great shading and loved the touch of green sash that shadowed her skirt. Your glittered wings showed up very sparkly too. Great use of the new Ryn leaves as well. I love your new fall garden header. I too have missed seeing your creations and now that my pampered Crafters Retreat is over I will have more time to visit again.
